Don't know where to start but really want the benefits of yoga, then this is your class. This class won't have any traditional flow (the vinyasa) simply students will move from pose to pose only being linked by Downward Dog. Enjoy learning all the fundamental asanas (poses) in addition to breathing techniques that will relax, refresh and redesign your body, mind, and spirit. 75/90 minute class.
Intro to Ashtanga
Like discipline? Order? Do you like to be challenged? Then Ashtanga is your yoga! Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. On a physical level the asanas (poses) of the Primary Series build strength and flexibility in the body, loosening tight muscles and realigning and detoxifying the body and nervous system. The series begins with forward bends, then twists and hip openers with a vinyasa between each asana. The Primary Series in total is 41 asanas, however in most classes we will only visit the standing portion.
Barre class is a rigorous workout that blends elements from different exercise styles including ballet, pilates and yoga. Sweat, sculpt, and have fun with tiny movements that will tighten and tone every inch of your body. All levels welcomed!
Goddess Flow (Slow Flow)
G.Y.M. is the acronym for Gypsy Yoga Mama. This class is the second series of the G.Y.M. sequences and focuses on channeling your feminine energy within and bringing into a smooth sensual flow. A Preset sequence so students can learn the flow, and really embrace the practice by diving deeper into the flow. This class will feature slower flow, longer holds, many backbends heart openers, and lots of floor asanas. 75 minute class.
What does Vinyasa Flow me?
The word "vinyasa" literally means, "to place in a certain way." It is used to describe the linking of breath with movement during a Yoga class.
Amazon Flow (Power Flow)
This class is for the powerful soul. Traditional Vinyasa style with the GYM twist. Class does incorporate Hula Hoops, so be prepared for anything. Be prepared to move, sweat, and flow with unique transitions, lots of core work, and balance poses. This class is done to upbeat music that encourages dancing, twerking, and sweating. If you’re not ready to work up a good ol’ sweat doing tradition poses with fun combos, skip this class. 60 minute class.
Sunrise Movement & Meditation
Jump start your morning with a mindful movement and meditation class! Includes a 15 minute gentle yoga session to gently stretch and wake the body up. Followed by 15 minutes of guided meditation to mindfully prepare for the day. Following class students can enjoy a complimentary tea &/or coffee. 30/45 minutes
Yoga for MEN
Despite what mainstream media displays YOGA was taught, made and shared only with men for thousands of years. You've done enough kettle bell swings, and slammed tons of weights, come learn the art of breath control, body awareness, and the ability to hold a Downward Facing Dog with ease. This class will focus on the traditional standing postures of Ashtanga.
